3 Best Hacks For Everyday House Cleaning

House Cleaning Referrals | Weekend Maids

For many of us, it’s not that we don’t like having a clean house, it’s just that we would like to turn all those chores into a quick and easy job with all the benefits of a top-to bottom detailed cleaning.

Although a quick daily clean up won’t feel the same as a detailed cleaning, we can maintain the cleanliness of our houses for a bit longer with some simple hacks.

Hack #1: Toilet cleaning bombs

These are very useful when your toilet has an unpleasant smell. It will freshen your toilet and save you lots of time on scrubbing.

You will need one cup of baking soda, ¼ cup of citric acid, ½ tablespoon of vinegar, one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, 20 drops of essential oil of your choice (peppermint, pine, lavender, lemon, rosemary, etc) and a silicon ice cube tray.

In a bowl, add the baking soda and citric acid, on another bowl mix the hydrogen peroxide and vinegar, after mixing, add the mix to the baking soda bowl very slowly to prevent making a mess due to the reaction of both ingredients and put the mixture in the ice cube tray pressing firmly to make them compact. Let rest overnight. After that, you can store them in a glass jar and keep them in a shelve in your bathroom.

Hack #2: Soap scum mix

Soap scum in showers looks very disgusting and is oftentimes hard to clean. A mix of 50/50 vinegar and dish soap in a spray bottle will help you get rid of it. Just spray the mixture over walls and bathroom floor, let it work for 10 minutes, and then scrub and rinse.

Hack # 3: Sweep floors with socks

Do you feel too lazy or have no time to sweep your house? Wear a pair of cozy, fluffy, polyester socks and walk around your house. It will clean your house from dust, hair and other particles as soon as you finish walking all over the room. Afterwards, take them off and toss them in the laundry. You can reuse the pair of socks for a quick clean during the weekdays.

We hope you find these hacks helpful and remember that although you can maintain your house clean for longer with them, you will eventually need a general house cleaning.
